چکیده

Abstract In this study, a combination of target and untargeted analytical chemometric approaches are proposed to assess the metabolic changes freshwater flea Daphnia magna produced by exposure environmental endocrine disruptor, bisphenol A. The extraction procedures were optimized for 23 representative metabolites using different number daphnids two set ups. Control A exposed D. extracted samples then analyzed liquid chromatography coupled Orbitrap high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-Orbitrap MS). targeted analysis selected in control was first used protocol its quantitative performance. second stage, an approach developed identification large unknown expressed or inhibited comparison samples. For purpose, recently Regions Interest - Multivariate Curve Resolution (ROIMCR) procedure as well other methods Principal Component Analysis (PCA) applied data sets gathered approaches. Results interpreted terms effects metabolism on discovery possible biomarkers exposure.

AChE inhibition: one dominant factor for swimming behavior changes of Daphnia magna under DDVP exposure.

As a key enzyme that hydrolyzes the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in cholinergic synapses of both vertebrates and invertebrates, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) is strongly inhibited by organophosphates. AChE inhibition may induce the decrease of swimming ability. According to previous research, swimming behavior of different aquatic organisms could be affected by different chemicals, and there is...

Influences of maternal exposure on the tolerance and physiological performance of Daphnia magna under mercury stress.

We examined the tolerance development to mercury (Hg) by a population of freshwater zooplankton (Daphnia magna) with different pre-exposure histories to Hg. The growth and reproductive performance of the F1 offspring as affected by the maternal (F0) and offspring (F1) exposures was quantified. The F0 daphnids exposed to 2.5 and 25 nM of Hg for 4 d and followed by 4 d of depuration had elevated ...

Daphnia magna

The cellular architecture of the Daphnia compound eye visual system was studied by using computer-aided techniques. All the neurons in one half of the bilaterally symmetric optic ganglion (OG) were reconstructed in three dimensions from serial electron micrographs. The techniques employed were those developed by Levinthal and collaborators (Macagno, Levinthal, and Sobel, Ann. Rev. Biophys. Bioe...

Bisphenol A migration from plastic materials: direct insight of ecotoxicity in Daphnia magna.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is an endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC) whose migration from food packaging is recognized worldwide. However, the real overall food contamination and related consequences are yet largely unknown. Among humans, children's exposure to BPA has been emphasized because of the immaturity of their biological systems. The main aim of this study was to assess the reproductive impact ...
